Personal Statement
My major professional interests over the past 30 years have been evaluation and treatment of liver disease and the liver patient throughout transplantation. My other major professional aim has been the establishment of a group of clinicians and basic scientists in a cohesive Liver Study Unit that now has seven liver physicians and five basic scientists with the express goal of bringing the results of basic research on clinical problems to the bedside.
